The Administration Manager is responsible for managing the duties of the Privacy Officer as outlined in the Privacy Act PNG amended 2000.
All staff are responsible for adhering to this policy. All staff and contractors within NCS having access to personal and private information must sign a privacy and confidential agreement stating their willingness to be bound by this policy.
Staff are not to discuss details regarding NCS staff, customers, or contractors over the telephone without the approval of the Privacy Officer. Staff may discuss personal details only with parents, partners or legal guardians.
Interested parties may request to have access to information within files by seeking authorisation from the Privacy Officer.The Privacy Officer shall withhold access to the whole or part of the information if it is deemed appropriate.
The Privacy Officer shall advise the interested parties of the reasons for refusal, and, where appropriate, offer to have the access approved by an independent arbitrator.
Any complaints regarding the access to information or privacy are to be recorded and are to be referred to the Project Manager for investigation and resolution.
