NCS's vision for the business is to be the benchmark service provider for all companies wishing to operate within PNG. To achieve this, employees are encouraged to take ownership of our business processes and procedures.
Philosophy
We actively strive for employee fulfillment, and contribute to the social welfare of the local community and protection of our environment. We view our staff as a key element in the management and operation of our business and, as such, they are supported and trained in the performance of their respective duties.. Throughout the course of their employment all employees are required to attend training sessions. These sessions provide them with the necessary additional skills and knowledge to carry out their roles to the best of their abilities.
Achievements
No where is the success of our continuous training and development programmes more clearly evident than on Lihir, where the operation of camp, janitorial and catering services for over 2,000 camp residents is managed by a team consisting of mainly PNG national citizens and only five expatriates. Ongoing training provided these PNG nationals with the skills and knowledge that enabled them to be promoted to the positions of responsibility and authority they occupy today.
NCS currently offers to all its employees on Lihir a series of Numeracy and Literacy courses that have allowed participants to develop their skills to Grade 8 level. To date there have been over 120 voluntary students enrolled in these programmes. |
