HIV / AIDS
As a significant national company, NCS recognises that HIV/AIDS is a global problem that impacts upon our staff, their dependents, communities, our customers and the infrastructure where we operate. NCS has a responsibility to manage the impact of HIV/AIDS on the groups listed above.
NCS shall:
  • protect the rights of employees to work within a non-discriminatory environment with medical confidentiality;
  • facilitate education and awareness initiatives within the workplace and community that will reduce the risk of infection;
  • understand the impact of HIV/AIDS on our employees and our business;
  • support community-based research and management programmes through collaboration with government, industry, non-government organisations and relevant institutions;
  • ensure medical response procedures are available for any employee in the company who may be exposed to infection as a consequence of their work;
  • enhance the quality of life of people living with HIV/AIDS through a holistic approach to health and well-being;
  • track the progress of HIV/AIDS as well as the effectiveness of our interventions; and
  • engage other stakeholders, such as non-government organisations, workers’
  • unions and local communities, to pool critical resources and share information on best practice and lessons learned.
